Hope — Found in the One Who Has Come

Jesus has come and He brings hope to those who live in a world darkened by hopelessness. Jesus’ actions reveal Him as the ultimate Hope-Giver: “the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the Good News is proclaimed to the poor.” Remarkably, some who saw and encountered Jesus in His day could be blind to His coming as the Hope-Giver. How can we today live lives filled with expectation and joy that help others recognize the hope that Jesus desires to deliver to them?

The word “Advent” means “coming.” Something is coming… SomeOne is coming…and with Him, comes hope. In this time of preparation for our celebration of Christ’s first advent, and in our longing for His coming again, God again and again fills our lives with His version of hope—a certainty and expectation rooted in God’s Word and His faithfulness. Lives filled with hope in Christ reach other lives so they, too, can experience the renewal and hope found only in Jesus, our coming Savior and King.
