Jesus once said, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33). Powerful words of Jesus that we need for turbulent times. Jesus invites us to focus beyond the reality of what we experience every day to see Him, His faithfulness, and His victory. Because of Him, we have confidence as we draw near to God in full assurance of faith, as we hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, even as we spur one another on toward love and good deeds. If these are the last days, this is our time to take heart and even shine like stars, for Jesus, our Lord, has overcome the world! What troubles you most about the world in which we live? How will you draw strength and hope from Jesus’ words this week—and through His power invite someone else to experience peace and victory through Him?
