Developing Humility

There is a certain logic in saying we need to humble ourselves before God. (After all, He is God; we are not.) As we live for Christ in a “me-first” world, how do we embody humility without becoming someone else’s road kill? How do we celebrate accomplishments without becoming prideful? It begins with keeping everything in its proper place: The God who loves us, who created us and gave His Son for us, invites us to depend on Him. Period. Ultimately, then, at the foot of Jesus’ cross, we are humbled, filled with gratitude for the gift of God’s boundless love. What makes it difficult for you to be utterly dependent on God? How can serving others the way Christ selflessly did open the door for us to lay aside sinful pride and embody Christlike humility?

From Series: "Lifehacks"

A “Lifehack” describes any advice, shortcut, tip or skill that will help you get things done more efficiently and effectively. Because it is God’s Word, the Bible is our guide to all things in faith and life. Above all, it shows us Jesus, our Savior, and all that He has done to make us God’s people. It also empowers us and guides us as we live for God and we make a difference in this world for the sake of Christ’s Kingdom. Our Summer Back-to-Basics theme of “Lifehacks: Biblical Tools to Amplify your Faith” from Scripture is inspired by topics in the NIV Lifehacks Bible.
