Ch. 29 - God Can Use Anyone

The conversion, transformation, and mission of Paul (who once was named “Saul”) is something that only God could bring about by the power of His Holy Spirit. As one who once was a persecutor of the followers of Jesus, Saul’s encounter with the Resurrected Lord in effect raised him up to new life: now Paul, an Apostle, a missionary, the writer of 13 letters in the New Testament of the Bible (roughly 25% of the New Testament). Paul was a remarkable person for the Lord to choose as His servant, for no reasonable person would have picked this hater-of-Christians for that purpose. Then again, God’s choice demonstrates the Resurrection-power of God to change lives; it teaches us that anyone transformed by God’s grace (“undeserved love”) can be used by God for His purposes to His glory. How is the power of Jesus, the Resurrected One, transforming your life? In what ways do our lives as people of God display the power of Christ's love? Is there anyone that the Spirit is prompting you to demonstrate God’s love to in a tangible way that points to Jesus?
